In Sync Music Program

Here at In Sync we have four experienced music teachers and we offer a wide variety of musical specialties at levels from beginner to advanced players for children and adults.
 

We have programs available in all standard families of instruments such as brass, strings, woodwinds & percussion. And we have programs available in electronic music & technology, music composition & songwriting and in a host of harder to find instruments like banjo, bandura, harp and dulcimer.
 

Most musical styles are available so that each student can work in the musical context that best suits and interests them including, classical, jazz, blues, folk, country, ethnic styles, rap & hip-hop, rock & metal.
 

Our programs are designed around the idea that we are providing a musical education well beyond the scope of simple instrument technique and so we include study in music theory, history and context. Along with learning technique, a student is also developing musicality and musicianship.
 

We use a wide variety of materials including, instrument and voice lesson books, music theory books, flashcards and a variety of games and activities to maintain interest and support progress. This approach of a progressive musical education allows for students to be able to take a multi-instrumental direction or to try different instruments or to work with an instrument and voice or to work on both playing and songwriting or different styles of music and all the while the teacher and student are following a constant path of overall musical growth and development.

• Brass: trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn, baritone horn, french horn, euphonium & tuba
   

• Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, saxophone (alto – tenor – bari)
   

• Percussion: drum kit, concert and marching percussion and hand drums
   

• Keyboards: piano, organ, and accordion
   

• Electronic Music Production: using various apps to enable students to use computers, tablets & phones to create and record beats and instrument tracks

• ​***Strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, acoustic & electric guitar, bass guitar, five string & tenor banjo, mandolin, bandura, harp and dulcimer.

  • *** Many of these instruments need to be sized to the student so if you do not already have an instrument you might wish to meet with the teacher for a trial lesson where you can be measured and discuss the various options to make sure that you are getting the right instrument at the right size.
